I would like to take a moment to thank Doutzen Kroes for playing the part of the Guinea pig by not wearing sunscreen during her day at the beach. She has once again confirmed that the Sun is just as powerful during the winter months. Please learn from this sacrifice that she has made and remember to wear your sunscreen of choice at all times when showing skin. Bronze may be beautiful, but if you're peeling worse than a banana no one is going to come near you.
I used to think all the stories my mother used to get me to wear sunscreen were simply scare tactics. Sure, I'd be red for a couple days, and then peel a little bit, but there was something sort of satisfying about shedding my skin like a snake. I felt that way until I saw my first bad sunburn. This dude was burnt so bad that he started to blister. Big ol' things on his ears and when he put his shirt on too quickly it hit the blisters and they popped. Witnessing that was more convincing than any D.A.R.E. course could ever hope to be.
