Jessica Chastain is currently starring in "George and Tammy" for Showtime's 6-episode biopic on the iconic Country music couple. It is based on a book by Georgette Jones called "The Three of Us: Growing up with Tammmy and George" and it is produced by Chastain's production company, so for all intents and purposes, it's her show.

In the show, that she is producing and starring as the iconic Country Singer in a tumultuous relationship George Jones, a story we'll assume she was familiar with when she first decided to monetize off it.

She is also actually singing the songs she sings and performing live when she performs on the show, the music is produced by one of the industry's best, T Bone Burnett, who you may know from Jeff Bridge's Crazyheart or more excitingly and probably more iconic (sorry Ryan Bingham), Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

Well, last week, in generating buzz around the show, there was a story that Chastain was personally offended by the lyrics of "Stand by Your Man", which is arguably her biggest song, one of the biggest songs in Country music, a song that probably introduced Chastain to Tammy Wynette.

So naturally, Chastain was dragged for it, knowing the song before producing the show and clearly pandering to the man hating, traditional value hating, outraged and woke of the internet.

Apparently, Chastain NEVER said that, it was all just clickbait and her official statement was:

“I have never said that I was personally offended by the lyrics of Stand By Your Man. Any article stating otherwise is just trying to get clicks.”

She went onto say:

“I’ve said multiple times that the song is about standing by someone and forgiving them through difficulty. Doesn’t mean you need to stay married to them, proven by Tammy herself. I love the song. Grateful that I got to learn beyond the stereotype and see it the way Tammy did,”

I think she did say it, got dragged for it and is "acting" her way through it. Professional liars, ya know.

But with her latest statement, Stand By Your Man, a great song has lasted the test of time and has Chastain's endorsement, because men can't help ourselves we're just men.

In being men, we're here for the nudies, so 45 year old Chastain slipped into something a little more comfortable for her first matrimonial encounter with Jones, played by Michael Shannon, and it looked pretty good to me!
