It tells the real-life story of Elisa Sanchez Loriga (played by Natalia de Molina) - a woman living in the late 19th century who, in order to be with her lesbian lover Marcela Gracia Ibeas (played by Greta Fernández) without facing the scrutiny of late 19th century douchebags, decided to adopt a male persona. Because she lived as a man, she was able to marry Marcela, and the two had a great life that apparently included a lot of insanely sexy spit swapping and finger blasting. Love is love.
